Chevy Nova Street Rod
My name is Dave Boehm and I enjoy working on my new street Rod.
Presently I'am looking into installing a 4.3 Turbo Charged V6 and
700R4 transmission from a 93 GMC Typhoon into my 67 Chevy Nova.
This set-up should run low 13's in the quarter mile and still option
20 miles to the gallon on the highway. To help the street rods body
stay together under higher than normal stresses, I felt that a new
subframe was in order.
My Nova Subframe
I have developed a new subframe for the Chevy Nova 1966-67.
I am Locationed in Littleton Colorado (Southwest of Denver), near Bandmair Speedway. I
found other subframe manufactures products did not meet our requirements. The original
project started on a beautiful 1967 Nova that was in a complete frame up face lift.
After installing a new front-end and a 9 inch Ford rearend we considered all other
subframes currently available. Other Subframe manufactures products where unacceptable.
This new subframe will meet the needs of the classic street machine minimizing body
cracks/sag plus meet Drag racers desire for lowest E.T..
This subframe has many options:
1) (Subframe Connectors)Ties the front engine supports to rear leaf spring carriages.
2) (Crossmember frame support)Minimizes body twist in corners and improves handling.
3) (Panhard Kit)Supports Rear Differential from side to side motion.
4) (Transmission Mount)The system now provides transmission mount integration.
5) (4 Link or Ladder Bar capability)Finalize your kit with complete rear differential
support with the most possible traction .
