Here we see our friend helping some poor lost soul find his way through
the confusing world of TCP/IP.
What does he do?
Good question! Sometimes I wonder that myself - but here's the scoop.
I maintain the system around here. I make sure that the network is
functioning properly, and that all of the machines here in the office
are happily chattering away. I also do the cgi programming for the web
pages you see here at E.Central. These programs are written in Perl
(angels sing) and they hopefully run without ever being noticed.
Beyond the screen...
So what, you ask, does our friend do after he's been staring at the
computer screen all day? Usually I spend time sharpening my programming
skills. There always seems to be more for me to learn, or a new project
for me to think through.
