You can follow these instructions for changing the access number that your computer dials. Simply find the instructions for your operating system and complete the directions.
Windows XP
Click Start, choose Control Panel.
Open Network Connections (You may need to choose Switch to Classic View on the left side of the screen, to see this control panel).
Locate the icon that refers to E.Central. Right-click on that icon and a pop-up menu will appear. Choose "Properties" from this menu.
The Session Properties window will appear, with a field for the phone number to dial. Change this to the new E.Central number.
Click 'OK' to save the new settings.
Windows 95/98
Open up the Dial-Up Networking folder (found in "My Computer").
Locate the icon that refers to E.Central
Right-click on that icon and a pop-up menu will appear. Choose "Properties" from this menu.
The Session Properties window will appear, with a field for the phone number to dial. Change this to the new E.Central number.
Click 'OK' to save the new settings.
Windows ME
Open up the Control Panel folder (found in "My Computer").
Open Dial-Up Networking folder and locate the icon that refers to E.Central
Right-click on that icon and a pop-up menu will appear. Choose "Properties" from this menu.
The Session Properties window will appear, with a field for the phone number to dial. Change this to the new E.Central number.
Click 'OK' to save the new settings.
Windows NT 4.0
Open up the Dial-Up Networking phonebook (found in the "My Computer" folder).
Verify that your E.Central session is selected.
Click the button labeled 'More' and choose "Edit entry and modem properties" from the list. This will take you to the "Edit Phonebook Entry" dialog.
You should see the field for the "Phone number" right away. If you don't, click the 'Basic' index tab and it should appear.
Type the new E.Central phone number in this field.
Macintosh OS X
Click on the Apple menu (typically found in the upper left corner of your screen)
Open System Preferences and click Network.
On the PPP tab there is a field for the phone number to dial. Change this to the new E.Central number.
Once you have done this, close the Network. If you are prompted to save changes, please do so.
Macintosh System 7.6 or 8.x or 9.x: The "PPP" or "Remote Access" Control Panel
Apple started using the "PPP" control panel with Mac System 7.6, and it's present in 8 and 8.1 too. (In System 8.5 and later, it's called "Remote Access".) Changing the dial-in number here is very easy:
Click on the Apple Menu and open the "PPP" (or "Remote Access") control panel.
Change the phone number to the new E.Central number and close the control panel.
If you are prompted to save changes, please do so.
Macintosh: FreePPP 2.5 or 2.6
FreePPP 2.5/2.6 works with Mac System 7.5.1 and up.
Open the FreePPP Setup program (usually from the Apple Menu).
Click the 'Accounts' index tab, highlight the account for which you wish to change the number, and click 'Edit'.
Replace the dial-in number with the new E.Central number, and click 'OK' to save the new settings.
Older Macintosh systems (System 7 to 7.5.1, even some System 6 variations)
You are probably using the "Config PPP" control panel by default.
Click the Apple Menu, choose control panel
Open the "Config PPP" control panel, and click 'Config...' to enter the Configuration area.
Replace the phone number with the new E.Central number and click 'Done'.
If you are prompted to save changes, please do so.
